This geology webinar is a unique opportunity for Ohio educators to hear from Dale Gnidovec, Orton Geological Museum’s Collections Manager & Curator.

Dale will virtually guide teachers through the museum, detailing and expanding on each exhibit, plus sharing fossils that aren’t on display.

The Orton Geological Museum is located in Orton Hall on the South Oval of The Ohio State University, in Columbus, Ohio. Part of the School of Earth Sciences, the Museum plays a key role in research, teaching, and outreach. Explore rocks, minerals, and fossils from Ohio, from around the world, and from outer space!

About Dale Gnidovec

Collections Manager and Curator of OSU's Orton Geological Museum

B.S. in geology from Muskingum College, M.S. in geology from Fort Hays (Kansas) State University, and has done Ph.D. work at the University of Texas at Austin and the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia.  

Main job at Orton Geological Museum is taking care of over 54,000 rocks, minerals and fossils. Take care of the Museum's exhibit hall and give guided tours. Identify things that people bring in, such as rocks, minerals, fossils, and bones (not artifacts).
