Ohio Natural Energy Institute’s Charlie Dixon to Participate in Youngstown State University’s Fire Science Program
Dixon will serve on the YSU Fire Science Advisory Board

PATASKALA, OH - The Ohio Natural Energy Institute is proud to announce Charlie Dixon’s participation in the Youngstown State University Fire Science Advisory Board.
Charlie Dixon, Captain (Retired), has over forty years of volunteer and career fire service experience. Throughout his career, he has held multiple specialized roles including as a certified fire safety inspector, fire and arson investigation team member, and HazMat team member.
“I’m honored to have the opportunity to advance the knowledge and leadership abilities of fire and emergency service in Ohio,” said Charlie Dixon. “Serving on the Fire Science Advisory Board at YSU is a great chance to connect with the future of fire science and safety.”
At the Ohio Natural Energy Institute, Charlie serves as Senior Fire Safety Advisor and head of our GoSafer Training. This training, a first of its kind in the nation, provides training to firefighters and first responders, offering education and experience in the Ohio natural gas and oil industry by sharing common practices, references, and standards.

Dixon is currently an Ohio Certified Fire and Emergency Services Instructor II, Live Fire Instructor, and Firefighter II. Dixon also teaches part-time at the Wayne County Regional Fire Training Facility and is serving his third term on the Ohio Fire Council and is the current President of the Ohio Society of Fire Service Instructors.
The Fire Science Advisory Board supports the continued excellence and growth of Youngstown State’s Fire Science program. Charlie will join a dedicated Advisory Board composed of distinguished leaders and professionals, ranging from fire service to public safety.
