FIELD ENGINEER (CASED-HOLE OR WIRELINE)

Minimum Education Requirements: Associate or Bachelor Degree in Geology or Petroleum Engineering.

Field Engineers (often referred to as Cased-hole or Wireline Engineers), use electronic imaging tools, such as a well log, to analyze the oil and gas producing rock formations. Some Field Engineers monitor other drilling procedures such as pipe cementing, and may also supervise the perforation of the pipe so that the oil and gas can flow from the rock formation into the well.
