PATASKALA, OH - The Ohio Natural Energy Institute is proud to sponsor the inaugural Ronnie Moran Memorial Race on Oilfield Appreciation Night at the Muskingum County Speedway on May 31, 2025. The evening will honor Ronnie’s life and the men and women in the oil and gas industry.

In 1980, Ronnie Moran, a self-employed oil well driller and supporter of the industry, bought the Muskingum County Speedway. It quickly became the heart of his family and one of Ohio’s most successful racetracks.

“Through my father’s involvement in the oil and gas industry, he was able to support the passions of our family,” said Donnie Moran. “Celebrating his legacy on Oilfield Appreciation Night honors his mark on this community and recognizes the industry that made it a reality.”

“The legacy of Ronnie Moran lives through the Muskingum County Speedway,” said Bruce Tague, Executive Director of the Ohio Natural Energy Institute. “We are honored to be a part of this unforgettable evening to honor Ronnie and our industry.”

The night will be co-hosted by the Valvoline American Late Model Iron-Man Series fueled by VP Racing Fuels.
